Fundraising underway for new mountain biking trails
Mountain Biking in Fruita is a huge part of what makes Fruita fun and is excited to share our upcoming work to improve this world-class mountain biking trail network. Trail construction is currently underway to expand and improve the already great riding experience in the North Fruita Desert at 18 Road. Many new trails are already planned and construction will begin by early April, but to get as much construction done this spring help is needed.
If you enjoy riding on the Fruita trails, please pitch in to help with this process. There has been a fundraising campaign established called Forty Days of Fruita Trails and the website highlighting the trail building and fundraising effort is located at www.FruitaSingletrack.com/donate/.
Donations can be made directly on the site, which is administered by the Fruita area local non-profit trails organization, the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trails Association (COPMOBA.) All funds donated at this site will go directly to the North Fruita Desert trails effort. In addition to accepting donations at the above web site, there will be a silent auction and several events to raise awareness about the construction. Watch for information on those events.
The map below shows three new trails that they would like to construct. They are prioritized and funding is mostly in place for the Pumptrack Trail as priority and number one, but with this campaign they hope to raise additional funds to build as much new trail as possible. The new singletrack routes in the North Fruita Desert area at 18 Road will include long and flowing routes with berms and jumps. The trails were planned by a broad group of local riders and will be just plain fun trails throughout the middle of the area. These trail projects have the full support of the City of Fruita and the Bureau of Land Management where the trails reside on public lands.
