Pizza Hut Lovers Rejoice
Pizza Hut is here. And this hut, located at 1041 Hwy 6 & 50 on the corner of 18 Road, is not any “ordinary” Pizza Hut according to General Manager Alicia Fechner.
This will be the first Pizza Hut on the western slope to include a Wing Street menu. WingStreet features a variety of tasty chicken wings and salads to add sweet and spicy goodness to Pizza Hut’s list of pizzas, pastas, salads, and other sides. This will be one of 82 franchised locations part of High Plains Pizza, which has been in business for 53 years.
Fechner has been with Pizza Hut for 10 years, and counting. She is the youngest General Manager in the company’s mountain region. She previously served as General Manager over at their Horizon location in Grand Junction. Her husband, Jermiah, is the General Manager of the First Street location in Grand Junction. They have one son, 3-year-old Kale.
“We have Pizza Hut in our blood,” Fechner joked.
Another unique feature of the restuarant will be the phone-in order drive-up window. This should be quite popular as folks returning home from work can call ahead and pick up their hot order without having to leave the comforts of their car. This should be quite popular when itsnows in the winter.
The Fruita Pizza Hut will also sell pizza by the slice, which will be quite popular to the local high school students at lunch. The lunch menu will include a slice of pizza and a 20 oz. soda for $3.25 or two slices and a 20 oz. soda for $5.
WingStreet items will include eight different flavors of wings with dipping sauces. In place of a salad bar, WingStreet salads will be available featuring WingStreet toppings.
The seat capacity for dine-in is 40 and features six flat screen TV’s and a home town décor. All of the art features pictures of historic Fruita provided by Denise and Steven Hight, our local Fruita Historians.
Hours of operation will be 11a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
