Police Report
The following items were selected from reports made to the Fruita Police Department:
JULY 7
Officer responded to a threat to kill an animal call by known subjects. After further investigation, the report was unfounded.
JULY 9
A runaway was reported in the 100 block of N. Maple St.
Someone stole an iPod valued at $235 in the 900 block of Azurite Dr.
JULY 10
Caller reported he lost a money envelope somewhere while he was driving the night before.
Shoplifting was reported at City Market. Kay Kelly, 34, was issued a summons for theft of $85.
Officers contacted Deon Blackwood, 18, for active warrants at E. Pabor Ave. and N. Peach St. During the arrest, Blackwood was found to be in possession of miscellaneous prescription drugs with no prescription on container the drugs were found in.
A fight occurred in the 100 block of Peter Dr. Stephen Miceli, 42, was arrested for false imprisonment and third degree assault, a crime of domestic violence.
JULY 11
Person(s) unknown used a cutting tool to put holes in the vinyl tarp cover over the number four dugout at Little Salt Wash Park. Damage is estimated at less than $500.
A vehicle was damaged in the 800 block of E. Ottley Ave. by children throwing rocks. The damage was estimated at $300.
JULY 12
Officers responded to the 200 block of Javan Ct. to an unattended death investigation.
A black wallet was lost in the area of the Maverik convenience store, 1103 E. Hwy. 6 & 50.
Property valued at approximately $380 was stolen from the Fruita Community Center, 324 N. Coulson St.
JULY 13
Bobby Turley, 25, was issued a summons for menacing in the 400 block of W. Aspen Ave. after he threatened another person.
Theft from auto occurred in the 1400 block of Bobcat Way when someone entered a vehicle, stole a wallet and attempted to withdraw money using the victim’s credit card. Loss is estimated at less than $100.
JULY 14
Burglary occurred in the 1000 block of Cedar Way when property was damaged and removed from an apartment complex.
Daniel Lockyer, 49, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after officers responded to Taco Bell. Lockyer was released on a summons.
JULY 15
A traffic accident occurred at 155 N. Mulberry St. when someone ran into an unattended vehicle. The driver left the scene making no attempt to contact the vehicle’s owner or police. The case is under investigation.
Officers responded to a party at Snooks Bottom. Two juveniles, a 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl, were contacted and issued summonses to appear in municipal court for possession of alcohol by an underage person.
JULY 16
Officers recovered miscellaneous items that were possibly stolen from vehicles in the area of E. Carolina and Sargent Circle. The case is under investigation.
