Johns Manville announces acquisition of Industrial Insulation Group, includes manufacturing in Fruita

Denver-based building products manufacturer Johns Manville (JM) today announced it has purchased Industrial Insulation Group (IIG), a manufacturer of insulation for industrial, commercial and fireproofing applications. Additional details on the transaction are included below.

JM, a Berkshire Hathaway company, previously owned a minority stake in IIG, but will now operate it as a standalone LLC – no significant changes are planned for IIG operations. IIG has operations in Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama and Texas, including a manufacturing facility in Fruita.

What possible impact this acquisition will have on the Fruita economy, whether positve or negative, has yet to be determined. The Fruita Times plans to follow the topic and inform readers of any news that impacts our community.

According to the press release, IIG’s product line complements JM’s portfolio of insulation products, allowing JM to offer an even broader continuum of solutions that meet the insulation requirements of any project.
