Police Report

The following items were selected from reports made to the Fruita Police Department:

AUG. 10
A credit card was reported stolen and the case is under investigation.

AUG. 12
An unknown  man pushed his way into a residence on Drumlin Circle and exposed his genitals to two women and then fled. The investigation is continuing.

AUG. 13
A two-car non-injury traffic accident occurred in the 1400 block of Drumlin Street. It was determined that a vehicle was backing when it struck a parked unattended vehicle.

Fraud was reported. The victim reported suspect unlawfully used a financial transaction device to obtain currency from her bank account.

Officers responded to a report of a found bike in the 900 block of E. Pabor Avenue.

AUG. 14
A 17-year-old girl from the 500 block of Hemlock Drive was reported as a runaway but has since returned home.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Lexington Way where two boys were throwing rocks at a residence breaking a glass window. Two boys, age 7, were contacted in the 100 block of Lexington Way. Both boys were turned over to their parents. The boys’ parents intend to reimburse the victim for the damage.

A parent called to report an incident involving her son’s behavior.

Officers responded to a three-car crash in the area of 18 Road and Hwy. 6&50. A woman was injured and transported to the hospital. No summons was issued at this time.

Theft was reported at the Community Center, 324 N. Coulson Street. A scooter valued at $100 was stolen and later recovered. A 10-year-old boy was issued a summons for theft.

A 14-year-old boy from the 500 block of Quebec was reported as a runaway. He was later found and returned home.

A 17-year-old boy from the 700 block of E. Columbine Avenue was reported as a runaway. He was later returned home.

AUG. 15
Officers contacted several subjects at the Fruita Skate Park after responding to a drug complaint. An 18-year-old male was issued a summons for abusing toxic vapors. A boy, age 16, was arrested and taken to the Department of Youth Corrections and another boy, 16, will receive a juvenile petition.

AUG. 16
A tourist from France reported possibly losing his cell phone valued at $550 in Fruita while traveling through the week before.

AUG. 17
Officers conducted a death investigation. No foul play is suspected.

Drug violation occurred at 18 Road and E. Kiefer Avenue. An 18-year-old male was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

AUG. 19
Officers contacted a 60-year-old male for driving under revocation near S. Mulberry and Hwy. 6&50. He was arrested for DUI, driving under revocation, possession of a schedule II substance, no insurance and possession of marijuana.

Officers contacted a male and female,  both 27, in Snooks Bottom Park after park hours. Both were issued a municipal ticket for violating park hours.

AUG. 20
A 30-year-old male was contacted at Locust Street and Walnut Street for driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving with excessive alcohol in breath. He was issued a summons to appear in Mesa County Court.
