FruitaMoms.com gives Fruita moms, others place to connect

Mothers from across the Grand Valley are joining women from across the country at a new online gathering place – FruitaMoms.com. The website’s main feature is blogs, online articles written by a team of women from Fruita, Grand Junction, Omaha, Austin and elsewhere. A new post publishes daily. The website is free.
Since launching Sept. 4, the site has garnered more than 1,000 page views. Blogs so far have been about coping with a mother’s brain cancer, living with MS, training for ultra marathons while raising four kids on your own, deciding to be happy and how to do it and just when little-girl dance classes started including short outfits and booty-shaking. The website is free.
Founder and editor Veronica Daehn Harvey hopes women visit the site daily to connect with other women. The group also will host events such as book club, moms night outs and play dates. The first book club meeting is Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. The group is reading “The Language of Flowers” by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Every woman is welcome to join.
