Police Report
A minor injury accident involving a car and bicycle occurred at J-3/10 Road north of Wildcat Ave.
AUG. 24
A woman intentionally retained items valued at $335 belonging to an ex-boyfriend when he moved out of the house.
AUG. 25
A hit and run accident happened at 152 S. Mesa Street. A 56-year-old male was issued a summons for backing a vehicle when unsafe, driving while revoked, and leaving the scene of an accident.
AUG. 26
Officers took a report of a juvenile being inappropriately touched by another juvenile in the 1800 block of J Road. The case is currently being investigated.
Officers responded to the 700 block of E. Harrison Avenue where a suicidal subject was transported to the hospital.
AUG. 27
A black 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Black Ridge Drive.
Officer was called on a protection order violation in the 100 block of Sierra Drive.
AUG. 28
Two vehicles were spray painted while parked in a driveway in the 600 block of Scorpio Court causing an estimated $4,000 in damage.
Neighbors signed a complaint that dogs were barking excessively throughout the day in the 300 block of Applewood Court. A 48-year-old female was issued a summons for disturbing the peace and for not licensing her dogs.
AUG. 29
A known adult male had shown an interest in a citizen’s 14-year-old daughter in the 800 block of E. Harrison Avenue. The suspect has been advised to not have any contact with the family or face prosecution.
A 16-year-old girl allegedly struck another 16-year-old girl at Fruita Monument High School which caused pain and injury. The first juvenile was issued a summons for assault into Fruita Municipal Court.
A woman in the 300 block of N. Maple Street reported her 24-year-old son repeatedly pushed and poked her, causing pain. The incident is under investigation.
AUG. 30
A white Ford pickup valued at $30,000 and a white Chevrolet pickup valued at $40,000 were stolen from separate addresses in Fruita. The vehicles were later recovered and the incident is under investigation.
Two boys, age 16, from the 600 block of Jasper Drive, were cited and released after they were found in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers received a report of a protection order violation, but upon investigation, it was determined no violation had occurred.
A women in the 100 block of Fremont Street reported a man had pushed her causing pain. The man also unlawfully took a laptop computer valued at $500. The incident is under investigation.
AUG. 31
A Ford Freestar minivan valued at $3,000 was stolen from the 100 block of Sierra Drive. The vehicle was later recovered and the incident is under investigation.
A 13-year-old girl in the 100 block of S. Sycamore Street was reported as a runaway by her parent.
SEPT. 1
A 14-year-old boy was reported as a runaway from the 300 block of W. Applewood Drive. The case is under investigation.
SEPT. 3
Officers responded to a report of a naked man swimming and threatening bystanders at Snooks Bottom. A 41-year-old male was arrested and taken to Mesa County Jail for attempting to assault a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing a police officer, menacing and unlawful conduct on public property.
