Police Report
The following items were selected from reports made to the Fruita Police Department:
SEPT. 20
A car was stopped at Virgo Way and K Road which displayed two different license plates. A summons was issued to a 25-year-old male for driving while suspended and having no insurance.
SEPT. 23
A burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Ruby Lee Drive where approximately $350 in goods was taken from a house.
SEPT. 25
A drug violation occurred at Mile Marker 2 and I-70 eastbound. A 53-year-old female was cited and released for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of N. Mesa for expired registration and the driver having a revoked driver’s license. A 49-year-old male was arrested for driving under revocation for alcohol convictions and suspicion of DUI/DUID.
SEPT. 26
A 19-year-old male was issued a summons for theft in the 1100 block of Hwy. 6&50 after he tried to steal items valued at less than $100.
A drug violation occurred at Mile Marker 5 on K-70 eastbound. A 24-year-old male was issued a summons after he was found in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Officers were dispatched to 403 Jurassic Avenue to a one-vehicle, non-injury private property accident.
SEPT. 28
A 50-year-old female was charged with theft after she attempted to take items valued at $69.72 from City Market.
A juvenile was reported as a runaway from the 300 block of W. Ottley Avenue.
Officers responded to the Taco Bell parking lot for a hit and run accident involving two vehicles. A 33-year-old male was issued a summons for failure to give information or aid after damaging another person’s vehicle, and careless driving.
SEPT. 29
An eight-foot python type snake was found in the 300 block of Catkin Street. Animal Control took possession of the non-poisonous snake. It exceeded the length of six feet as per Fruita Ordinance 6.18.010.
A report was taken regarding an unknown male using a possible stolen credit card in the 400 block of Hwy. 6&50.
An assault was reported in the 300 block of W. Ottley Avenue. A 27-year-old male was arrested and taken to the Mesa County Jail on charges of third degree assault, obstruction of telephone, child abuse and domestic violence.
SEPT. 30
A sexual assault was reported in the 100 block of S. Mulberry Street. The case is under investigation.
Private Security turned in several found credit cards and driver’s licenses which were found in the area during the Fruita Fall Festival.
Officers responded to the 300 block of W. Ottley Avenue on a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers recovered drugs and paraphernalia from a 14-year-old boy who was issued a summons.
OCT. 1
An abandoned vehicle in the 100 block of N. Mesa Street was towed.
Theft was reported in the 300 block of N. Ash Street, A rifle valued at $600 was taken from a vehicle.
A traffic accident occurred at Frontage Road and Hwy. 340. Approximately $4,000 in damage was done to both vehicles.
Theft was reported in the 900 block of E. Carolina Avenue. Unknown person(s) unlawfully entered a vehicle and stole property valued at $130.
A man was reported missing from the 100 block of N. Park Square.
