Police Report
The following items were selected from reports made to the Fruita Police Department:
SEPT. 28
Juvenile petitions were requested on five juveniles. The charges were for distribution of a controlled substance for one 15-year-old male and possession of a controlled substance for four 14-year-old males. This occurred at school in the 1100 block of Wildcat Avenue. All juveniles were released to family members.
SEPT. 30
An unknown person stole prescription pills valued at under $500 in the 5700 block of Raptor Court. The case is under investigation.
OCT. 1
Officers responded to a report of a traffic accident in the 100 block of N. Park Square. The damage totaled $800 to one vehicle. No one was injured.
An adult male was reported missing from the 100 block of N. Park Square. He later returned home.
OCT. 2
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office requested K9 use in the 300 block of 27-1/2 Road.
A 32-year-old female, in the 100 block of S. Ash Street, was arrested after she caused $700 in damage to her ex-boyfriend’s pickup and in doing so, violated bail bond conditions. She was also charged with obstructing after she ran from police and locked herself in a shed.
Officers responded to a report of a verbal disturbance in the 100 block of Sunset Drive. A 51-year-old male was issued a summons for keeping a disorderly house.
OCT. 3
A woman reported losing an overnight bag in the City Market parking lot.
Officers received a report of a bound bag of suspected marijuana in the 300 block of N. Coulson Street. The item was placed into evidence to be destroyed.
OCT. 4
A 16-year-old boy was issued a summons into Fruita Municipal Court on suspicion of careless driving at the Fruita-Monument High School parking lot.
Two Terrier type dogs were running at-large in the 800 block of E. Ottley Avenue. Animal Control took possession of both dogs. A 29-year-old female was issued a citation.
OCT. 5
A 28-year-old female was issued a summons for driving while under the influence of alcohol and careless driving after officers contacted her for traffic violations.
A possible theft was reported in the 300 block of S. Ash Street.
Officers responded to a reported dangerous dog at large. A 22-year-old female was identified as the owner of the dogs and was issued a summons for animal at large and dangerous animal.
OCT. 6
A bicycle was stolen in the area of Circle Park. Unknown person(s) unlawfully removed a bike valued at $200, which was chained to a pole. There are no suspects at this time.
An assault occurred in the 100 block of E. Aspen Avenue. A 41-year-old male was arrested and booked into Mesa County Detention Facility for third degree assault/domestic violence.
OCT. 7
Officer responded to the 200 block of Park Street on a reported domestic violence incident. A 35-year-old female was arrested and charged with domestic violence and assault in the third degree. She was taken to Mesa County Detention Facility.
Officers tagged an abandoned and junked vehicle for tow in the 300 block of N. Maple Street. The owner was previously notified of this action.
A reckless driver was reported in the 800 block of E. Cleveland Avenue. Officers contacted a 31-year-old male and cited him for reckless driving and driving when license was revoked. He was released on a summons.
