Police Report

The following items were selected from reports made to the Fruita Police Department:

OCT. 4

A 17-year-old boy was found to be in possession of a controlled substance he obtained from another 17-year-old boy. The boys were referred to the school at 1102 Wildcat Avenue for discipline and no charges were filed.

OCT. 11

Officers took a report of a suspicious incident in the 200 block of N. Cherry Street.

A 17-year-old boy was issued a summons on suspicion of driving carelessly on school property at 1102 Wildcat Avenue.

OCT. 15

Officers responded to a report of a suicidal person in the 500 block of Libra Way. An adult was taken to St. Mary’s for a mental health hold.

A suspicious incident occurred in the 300 block of N. Coulson Street where an adult man was taking photos of women patrons at the Fruita Community Center. The man was contacted and removed from the facility.

A theft of approximately $2,500 was reported in the 1100 block of Sunflower Avenue. The case is under investigation.

OCT. 16

Officers responded to a report of a hit and run at the Maverik convenience store. There is no suspect information at this time.

OCT. 17

A motorcycle was reported stolen in the 100 block of Bonnie Vista Drive. The case is under investigation.

A barking dog was reported in the 700 block of E. Cleveland Avenue. The residence owner was issued a warning for disturbance of the peace by an animal.

Animal Control received a report of two pit bull type dogs running at large in the area of N. Plum Street and W. Columbine Avenue. Animal Control responded and took possession of both dogs. The owner, a 39-year-old female, was cited for two counts of animals at large.

OCT. 18

Telephone harassment was reported in the 1100 block of Walnut Street. The suspect was warned and the incident was documented.

Officers responded to a report of a suicidal person in the 500 block of Libra Way. The adult was taken to St. Mary’s for a mental health hold.

OCT. 19

Unknown person(s) took a green BMX bike valued at $200 from the 1000 block of Inverness Way.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Amethyst Drive at Cliffrose Avenue for an injury accident involving a motorcycle and a car. The motorcycle ran a stop sign at Cliffrose Avenue and Amethyst Drive, colliding with the driver’s side of a vehicle that was southbound on Amethyst. Both drivers sustained minor injuries.

Officers contacted a man in the 300 block of N. Maple Street regarding phone harassment. The case is currently under investigation.

A 37-year-old male was issued a summons for criminal mischief after Lintner struck a wall causing damage of less than $100. Lintner was also charged with crimes to an at-risk adult.

OCT. 20

Unknown persons stole items valued at under $500 from a trailer in the 300 block of N. Sycamore Street.

Officer(s) responded to a reported sexual assault in the 200 block of N. Cherry Street. The case is under investigation.

A disturbance was reported in the 100 block of Sunset Drive. The case is under investigation.
