The following are from reports to the Fruita Police:
Officers responded to the 400 block of Amethyst Drive to a protection order violation. The case is currently under investigation.
Two juvenile males, ages 16 and 17, were given summonses on suspicion of being in possession of less than two ounces of marijuana in the 1100 block of Wildcat Avenue. Both juveniles were released to their parents.
The vehicle driven by a 36-year-old male collided with another vehicle in the 200 block of S. Mesa Street. He was charged with careless driving.
A 58-year-old male from Frisco, Texas, was contacted at Highway 340 and Kokopelli Boulevard for blocking the right lane of traffic with a semi truck. He was arrested for DUI.
Officer took a theft report. The victim gave $8,804 to an unknown person because she believed that she had won the Jamaican Lottery. The case is under investigation.
A citizen took a scooter to the police department which had been found at Little Salt Wash Park. The item was placed into property/evidence pending location of the owner.
An attempted burglary occurred in the 1100 block of Windsor Park Drive. Someone attempted to pry open the front door of the residence without success in the early morning hours. The case has been inactivated pending further leads.
A two-car non-injury accident occurred at the intersection of N. Pine Street and E. Ottley Avenue. A 62-year-old male of Fruita, was issued a summons for failure to stop for a stop sign.
A 15-year-old boy was issued a summons into Fruita Municipal Court on suspicion of criminal trespass after he had been ordered the week prior to remain off the property of a business in the 1100 block of Highway 6 and 50.
Theft occurred in the 100 block of S. Elm Street when person(s) unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a Nook valued at $250.
A known juvenile female is suspected of assaulting another juvenile female while walking down a sidewalk in the 100 block of N. Cherry Street.
Officers responded to a report of a theft-criminal mischief in the 100 block of Bonnie Vista Drive. Unknown person(s) unlawfully damaged a license plate, removing the registration year.
A lost license plate was reported from the 800 block of E. Cedar Court.
A 14-year-old boy was issued a summons on suspicion of an assault that occurred in the 1800 block of J Road.
Officers responded to a suicidal person in the 100 block of N. Peach Street who was taken to Colorado West Mental Health Hospital.
Officers received a report of a known subject violating a protection order by contacting the restrained person by telephone. Incident is under investigation.
Unknown suspects damaged three trees at the Little Salt Wash Park causing under $1,000 of damage.
Officers contacted a 22-year-old female for weaving and speeding near K Road and Virgo Way. She was arrested for suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, and speeding 54 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.
$150 in personal property was removed from a vehicle while parked unattended in front of a residence in the 900 block of Malachite Drive.
A property damage accident was reported at S. Pine Street and Hwy. 6&50.
Officer took a report of the theft of a firearm and other items valued at $500 from an unsecured vehicle parked at the intersection of Cedar Way and Pine.
A dog at large was reported at the Fruita Co-op. The owner of the dog, a 30-year-old male, was cited for animal at large, first offense.
A 11-year-old boy was detained after he set fire in a field adjacent to 150 S. Sycamore. No damage was reported.
Officers contacted a 32-year-old male for speeding near Hwy. 6&50 and Grand Avenue. Valdez was arrested for DUI, driving under revocation, and speeding.
